Vietnam Hoi An Travel guide

I began my trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang city

Trip details

Getting To Hoi An from Ho Chi Minh City

9 AM: I took the taxi to SGN airport. Round trip for $100. There are two things you need to know about taking Vietnam Domestic flights:

  • Traffic to get to the Airport at Ho Chi Minh City is very unpredictable. For example, I was in the traffic once for more than 30 mins. So give yourself a little bit extra time
  • If you take budget airline such as Vietjet then expect to be delayed for 30 mins at least and they will not do any real apology to you. Do not expect much.

11 AM: I finally get on broad as the delay was quite long

2 PM: I got to Da Nang airport. Then, I booked a taxi in advance from Da Nang to Hoi An first to catch the Hoi An laterns festival occur every Saturday and on the 14th of “lunar calendar”

* Da Nang to Hoi An is 30 km drive. Usually Taxi will cost about $20 to get to Hoi An. If you Google “Taxi Da Nang Hoi An” you will find some local service to do it for $10. If you need help comment down there I will give you a hand.

Hoi An Hotels and where to stay

4:30 PM: I got to my Hoi An hotels which is Vinh Hung Library. I got it for ~$25 at the time of booking. Personally I think it is one of the best hotels Hoi An with amazing roof top pool in this price range.

Just right across the street of this restaurant, I found a street vendor selling the same thing $3. Glory hell, my best chicken rice I have ever had. I cant help myself to come back and try the “Cơm Gà Bà Buội” see how good that is.

8:00 PM: A cup of drink $1.5 from there as well.
